Happy Valentine's Day

Austin and I had a relaxed, easy-going Valentine's Day - for the most part. We were able to sleep in, which we really needed. We woke up to a snowy day, which meant that for Austin he had snow removal to do. Luckily it only took about an hour and a half. So, we still had our day together. We didn't want to fight the crowds for dinner so we just stayed home. I thought we had decided not to get each other gifts this year, but Austin surprised me! He got me the Enchanted soundtrack, the Twilight soundtrack, and the five-hour version of "Pride and Prejudice" on DVD!!!

For the longest time I've been wanting to make a gingerbread house from scratch, but I've never got around to it. This past Christmas, my one goal was to make a gingerbread house, but I didn't do it. Then I got a standard Kitchenaid Mixer for Christmas. I decided for Valentine's Day Austin and I would decorate a gingerbread "Loveshack." I love the Kitchenaid mixer, it made the dough and icing so easily. So yesterday, we spent the evening decorating the house/loveshack. And yes: Austin did enjoy it.

Loving this! Kudo's to you for figuring out how to do it! I'm a big fan of the P&P long version, I watched it with my basketball team many times in highschool...not your normal crowd for P&P parties.
