In less than one week summer will be over and school will be in. Where did all my free summer time go? It started out so relaxing and laid back. Once June hit, though, pretty much every weekend was filled to the brim with things to do. They were fun things, of course, but it made Austin and I very busy. Here is what we were up to this summer:
- Family Reunions. I can count at least four official reunions. One was cancelled.
- Shop Hop. 15 quilt stores arrange a weekend where they have a theme and you go to each store to get a free pattern and buy fabric and enter fun drawings. So fun!
- Week of Work. I spent a week in June, July and August at my parents house helping them clean out their house. They've lived in their home for 20 1/2 years and finally all the children are pretty much moved out. It was time to dejunk and reorganize. This was a lot of work, but we got a lot done.
- Between May and August, my family has six birthdays.
- 4th of July. Rainy and cold, great fireworks.
- 24th of July. Cold. Incredible fireworks (with police and upset neighbors), but had to miss seeing them and only heard about them.
- Third nephew born.
- Sleepover with brother and sister. Hike, Transformers 2 and fun food.
- Sleepover with sister. Harry Potter 6!!! Float the canal.
Now, this may not sound like a lot to you, but it was certainly busy for us. We love to see family and do exciting things in the summer, but I think Austin and I are ready for a regular routine again. I'm sure our ward thinks we're inactive.
So, sweet summer, I bid you farewell. And now, fall semester, I'm ready to hit whatever curve ball you throw at us out of the park!
